You can almost hear millions of Muggles around the world crying already! Because on July 15th the Harry Potter film series will finally come to an end when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II hits theaters. The movie promises to pick up where last fall's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I left off and conclude the story, which is based on author J.K. Rowling's seventh and final book about the boy wizard.
A little over a year ago, we had a chance to travel to London, England and visit the set of the film while they were shooting both Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II at the same time. We told you about our visit to the set and what we found out about Part I last September, and now we can finally tell you what we discovered about the final chapter of the series.
The film was shot at Leavesden Studios in West Hertfordshire, England, just like the other movies in the decade long series. While on set we had an opportunity to talk with several members of the cast and crew including director David Yates and actors Evanna Lynch, James and Oliver Phelps, Warwick Davis, Rupert Grint and last but not least, Daniel Radcliffe. We also had the rare chance to watch the cast and crew shoot one of the most pivotal scenes in the entire series, the fight between Harry and Snape in the Great Hall.
Here is an excerpt from our discussion with director David Yates regarding the final film's spectacular battle scenes and how he crafted them.
We wanted to let you know that coverage of our set visit to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II will be coming soon. So be sure to have your wands ready and check back with us to learn everything you need to know about the final chapter of one of the most popular movie franchises of all-time!
