Cloud Atlas Adds Susan Sarandon and Jim Broadbent

Susan Sarandon and Jim Broadbent have joined the cast of Cloud Atlas. We reported yesterday that Ben Whishaw joined the cast.

It isn't clear what characters Susan Sarandon and Jim Broadbent will portray. The story is adapted from the David Mitchell novel which follows six separate but somehow interconnected story lines, which span from the 19th Century to a post-apocalyptic 21st Century. Each actor will portray multiple roles in the project.

Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski will direct from their own screenplay, which is adapted from the David Mitchell novel. Shooting will begin in September from a $100 million budget.

Cloud Atlas is in development and stars Halle Berry, Natalie Portman, Hugo Weaving, Tom Hanks, Ben Whishaw, Susan Sarandon, Jim Broadbent. The film is directed by Tom Tykwer, Lana Wachowski, Andy Wachowski.
