My Mother's Curse Gets Colin Hanks

Actor Colin Hanks has joined the cast of the upcoming Paramount Pictures comedy My Mother's Curse.

The story centers on a son (Seth Rogen) who invites his mother (Barbra Streisand) on a road trip to try and sell his new invention. However, he has an ulterior motive to reunite his mom with her long-lost lover. Colin Hanks will play the husband of Yvonne Strahovski's character, an ex-lover of Seth Rogen's who once proposed to her. The son and mother end up staying with Colin Hanks and Yvonne Strahovski when they get stuck in a blizzard.

Anne Fletcher (The Proposal) is directing My Mother's Curse from a screenplay by Dan Fogelman. Production recently started on My Mother's Curse, although it isn't known where the project is shooting.

My Mother's Curse comes to theaters March 30th, 2012 and stars Seth Rogen, Barbra Streisand, Yvonne Strahovski, Colin Hanks. The film is directed by Anne Fletcher.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Loses Director David O. Russell

Director David O. Russell has left the video game adaptation Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, reportedly over amicable creative differences.

Back in February, we reported that David O. Russell may be directing Cocaine Cowboys before he takes on Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. The director also has projects such as The Silver Linings Playbook, Old St. Louis, and 2 Guns in the works. It isn't known which project David O. Russell will make next, though.

Sony Pictures is now seeking a new writer for the project, which is an adaptation of a popular video game series. The story centers on Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter who spans the globe seeking the mythical city of El Dorado.

No production schedule was given for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, although it seems the project is still a priority at the studio.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Mark Wahlberg, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci. The film is directed by David O. Russell.

HBO and Summit Team Up Through 2017

Summit Entertainment and HBO have entered into an exclusive output agreement through which the leading pay television network will release the studio's slate of films that arrive in theaters beginning in January 2013 through the end of 2017. The agreement makes Summit the only minimajor to maintain an exclusive output arrangement with HBO. The announcement was made today by Bruce Grivetti, President, Film Programming of HBO, and Rob Friedman, Co-Chairman and CEO of Summit Entertainment.

"We are extremely happy to have Summit Entertainment as our newest partner," said Grivetti. "HBO is committed to delivering the best filmed entertainment to our subscribers and we believe Summit, an innovative and exciting producer, will play a vital role in the fulfillment of this promise."

"We are proud to be in business with HBO and have our films programmed alongside many of the industry's leading studios," said Friedman. "HBO continues to consistently produce quality original programming mixed with exciting sports and feature film programming and we look forward to a very productive relationship."

Summit Entertainment films expected to appear on HBO include the studio's re-imagination of the popular epic adventure Highlander, Ender's Game based on the award-winning novel written by Orson Scott Card; and epic 3D production Pompeii.

Summit Entertainment's President of Domestic Television Distribution Alex Fragen and HBO's Senior Vice President of Film Programming Doris Casap represented the studio and network in negotiations.
